Welcome to Lost & Found Central, a community service provided by Save Tehachapi’s Orphaned Pets, aka S.T.O.P. and founded and maintained by Susie Atherton, owner of Canine Creek Dog Wash and Pet Boutique.

  The goal of Lost & Found Central is to reunite lost and found pets with their owners. We serve the greater Tehachapi area including Bear Valley Springs, Stallion Springs, Golden Hills, Sand Canyon, and all outlying areas. 

  Before Lost & Found Central, people losing or finding a pet had the overwhelming task of calling a dozen or more different places to report a lost or found pet. Lost & Found Central narrows down the field and raises the chances of reuniting owners with their pet. 

  If you have lost or found a pet, please fill out our Report Form below and give us as much detail as possible. The information you provide will be sent to the following places: STOP website and STOP Yahoo Groups, Tehachapi News blog, Tehachapi Humane Society, Tehachapi Vet Clinic, Mojave Animal Shelter, Canine Canyon Ranch and Canine Creek website.

  In addition we recommend you contact the Tehachapi News classified ad department to file a lost/found pet report (at no cost), and have it listed in the newspaper.  Other organizations you can contact include FidoFinder, PetFinder, the animal shelters in Bakersfield, and Kern County Animal Control in Mojave.  You should also contact all local pet businesses (vets, groomers, pet shops), as many have bulletin boards where you can post lost/found pet information, BVS Police Dept. (if you live in BVS. Posters at mailboxes are also effective. If you found a pet, take it to the Tehachapi Vet Clinic or to Canine Creek to see if it has a microchip.
